Kramer KDS-7 / KDS-17

Planned: Kramer KDS-7 and KDS-17 AV over IP from any RTI panel — routing, video walls, mute and display control.

Overview

Coming soon. This driver is on our roadmap. It will control Kramer KDS-7 (KDS-EN7, KDS-DEC7) and KDS-17 (KDS-17EN, KDS-17DEC) AV-over-IP encoders and decoders over Kramer Protocol 3000, so an RTI panel can route sources, recall video walls and control displays through the decoders.

The 10G KDS-8 / KDS-8F (SDVoE) is a different system and is not planned for now. Channel numbers, video-wall geometry, EDID and network settings stay in Kramer’s own tools. If you have a project waiting for this driver, write to us — knowing your system helps us decide what comes first.

What it will do

Any source on any screen
Routing

Any source on any screen

Every encoder is a channel; every decoder picks one. The driver will send a source to one screen or to all of them and route video, audio, USB, RS-232 and IR together or separately. KDS-EN7 / KDS-DEC7 and KDS-17EN / KDS-17DEC share these commands, so one driver is planned for both.

Walls recalled from the panel
Video walls

Walls recalled from the panel

Planned: switching decoders between a single picture and their place in a video wall set up in Kramer’s tools, showing what each screen plays (channel, resolution, HDCP), and muting the picture or the sound of a single screen.

Displays controlled through the decoder
Device control

Displays controlled through the decoder

The driver will turn displays on and off with CEC through the decoder they hang on, and send IR or RS-232 through it — no second controller next to the screen. Planned on Kramer Protocol 3000 over TCP, one connection per encoder or decoder.
