Victron Energy GX

Planned: a Victron Energy system on RTI panels — live energy flow, battery and ESS control through the GX device, local, no cloud.

Overview

Coming soon. This driver is on our roadmap. It will connect an RTI processor to a Victron Energy system through its GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Venus GX or Venus OS) over Modbus TCP on the local network — no VRM account and no internet needed. Modbus TCP is switched on in the GX settings, and the driver talks only to the GX, never to the individual devices.

The driver will show and control what the GX makes available; the inverter’s own configuration stays in Victron’s tools, and the battery’s protection and BMS limits always win over remote commands. If you have a project waiting for this driver, write to us — knowing your system helps us decide what comes first.

What it will do

The whole system on one page
Live energy

The whole system on one page

The driver will read the system from the GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Venus GX or Venus OS) over Modbus TCP on the local network: solar, battery state of charge and power, grid and loads per phase, the inverter’s state and its alarms — ready for an energy-flow page on the panel.

Charge, hold or feed in — from a button
ESS control

Charge, hold or feed in — from a button

Planned on Victron’s ESS settings: the minimum state of charge, the grid setpoint, charge and feed-in limits, zero export, the inverter on, off or charger only, the AC input current limit, and forced charging or selling through ESS external control, renewed while the processor runs.

Wherever there is a GX device
Home, off-grid, boat, van

Wherever there is a GX device

The same driver for a house with solar, an off-grid cabin, a yacht or a camper: GX relays, the generator’s start and stop, tank levels where they exist, and events for macros — battery low or full, grid lost, overload, generator running.
